[June 2010] Oli Sorenson is invited by Austria's top VJs 4yourEye to show at Salon Projektionist, their new space in central Vienna. This is his first solo gallery exhbition since using the artist name Olivier Sorrentino. As a show title, Anti-Mapping is adding a new twist to the ever popular mapping VJ theme. Instead of offering a pixel perfect match between projection and physical objects, Sorenson proposes more dalogue between the two by allowing accidental distortions, and effects reminiscent of optical art in painting.

[Ongoing] VJing and AV performance are now at the crest of another popularity wave, unseen since the early 2000s, judging by the recent attendance records in workshops and tutorials. Not only showcasing a balanced program of established and rising talents, this provided a gathering place for real-life social networking between DJs, VJs and AV industry professionals. Programmed artists included The Light Surgeons, Meat Katie, AddictiveTV, 30 Hz, Vandal, Eclectic Method, D-Fuse, VJ Anyone, Ben Sheppee and many more. [view sample] [top]
