[new] Cyber Noir is a constantly evolving ambient DVJ set by Oli Sorenson, a live performance combining original visuals with downloaded MP3s. Raw minimalist graphics converge with sampled film soundtracks, in this piece which turns towards darker themes in Sorenson's work, as he aligns the AV artist with 1990s cyberpunk figures like hackers and cyborgs. Alternatively
titled Retro-Futuristic Nostalgia for Recently Past Near-Future Fictions, Cyber
Noir is a performance which anticipates a new foundness for 1990s esthetics, from
audiences at the dawn of the 2010s.
