 Ne1co (pronounced nah-ee-koh)
was created by VJ Anyone when changing his name to Oli Sorenson. After a ten-year period
working on the absence of authorship as his main creative theme, he concluded his
next move would be to join up with other artists and work on issues of inter-authorship.
Inspired by the Japanese suffix nai - employed generally to turn any expression
into its negative - Oli means to warn onlookers expecting Ne1co to behave like any
usual company. Ne1co is a hybrid startup,
fulfilling both duties of label and agency for selected audiovisual artists. Its
primary aim is to provide a one-stop-shop for the growing demands in moving-image products
and services for the music, arts and entertainment industries. Skilled teams of video
artists, illustrators, programmers and designers come together under Ne1co – on a
project-by-project basis – to produce compelling works and events in partnership with
musicians, brands and public events of all kinds. Self-produced personal
projects are also acknowledged within Ne1co, and showcased via The AV Social, a sporadic
event well attended by media savvy audiences. Whilst offering great networking
opportunities for creative professionals, The AV Social always packages a balanced line-up
of invited performers with artists from Ne1co's own roster. Ne1co is fast becoming an essential part of the emerging global audiovisual scene, by unleashing milestones leading inevitably to the convergence of digital cinema, live arts and club culture.
